Shift Box COLOR Installation
Instructions
1990 DSM's
(Under Construction)
Wiring instructions:
- IMPORTANT NOTE: If used with a
TCU or other method of controlling the transmission,
follow the instructions closely. Only one way of
controlling the transmission should be powered on at one
time to prevent unexpected control of the transmission
or damage to the TCU.
Use the supplied switch to switch between transmission
controls or substitute a suitable relay. Updated!
Using the Shift Box COLOR as a
standalone transmission controller:
2 pin Power harness
[18awg wires]
- Red wire is +12 volt switched
from the ignition
- Black wire is ground, connect to
a good clean chassis ground
6 pin Main harness
[24awg wires]
- Red wire is +12 volt
constant power
- White wire splices with the Tacho
output from the ECU
- Green wire splices with the TPS
input to the ECU
- Yellow wire goes to the Shift
Solenoid A
- Brown wire goes to the Shift
Solenoid B
- Blue wire goes to the Pressure Control Solenoid
3 pin External Shifter harness
[24awg wires]
- White/Black wire is the common
and sensor ground
- Purple wire is the up-shift button (short to white/black
wire to perform up-shift)
- White/Purple wire is the down-shift button (short to
white/black wire to perform down-shift)
Cap any un-used wires!
Using the Shift Box COLOR and
using a TCU:
2 pin Power harness
[18awg wires]
- Red wire is +12 volt switched
from the ignition (CONNECT TO GREEN WIRE
ON TOGGLE SWITCH)
- Black wire is ground, connect to
a good clean chassis ground
Shift Box / TCU toggle switch
18awg wires]
* NOTE: On the fuse
block there are 2 wires from the TCU fuse, both must be
cut and spliced together through the supplied switch
harness to prevent the TCU from being powered when the
shift box is being used.
- Red wire to Green switch
harness wire
- Yellow switch harness wire to
fuse block harness (Power from TCU fuse)
- Brown switch harness wire to
fuse block harness (This will power the TCU)
6 pin Main harness
[24awg wires]
- Red wire is +12 volt
constant power
- White wire splices with the Tacho
output from the ECU
- Green wire splices with the TPS
input to the ECU
- Yellow wire goes to the Shift
Solenoid A
- Brown wire goes to the Shift
Solenoid B
- Blue wire goes to the Pressure Control Solenoid
3 pin External Shifter harness
[24awg wires]
- White/Black wire is the common
and sensor ground
- Purple wire is the up-shift button (short to white/black
wire to perform up-shift)
- White/Purple wire is the down-shift button (short to
white/black wire to perform down-shift)
3 pin TCU Solenoid harness
[24awg wires]
- White/Yellow wire goes to the TCU
Shift Solenoid A output
- White/Brown wire goes to the TCU
Shift Solenoid B output
- White/Blue wire goes to the TCU Pressure Control
Solenoid output
Cap any un-used wires!
